The 'fleur de lis' is a symbol that carries multiple meanings; most commonly as a mark of the French monarchy.  In New Orleans, Louisiana, it has taken on a new significance.  After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the fleur de lis is an emblem of strength, rebuilding and a memorial of the storm.  The following paintings were commissioned by the Fleur de Lis Physical Therapy clinic in New Orleans; a place where people can rebuild on all levels.
