Mark Frossard was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1981.
In 2004, he earned his BFA in Painting from the
University of Kansas. During his time in the Midwest,
Mark began his studies of the figure and the process
of narrative storytelling in his work.

After graduation, Mark moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico,
incorporating the beauty of the southwestern landscape
into his paintings. His new work became inspired by
the cultural diversity, alien landscape and vibrant
colors. Several group exhibitions in Santa Fe,
Albuquerque, Los Angeles and Hollywood displayed these
paintings. This was soon followed by his first major
solo exhibition of over 20 paintings at Red Dot
Gallery in Santa Fe.

In the summers of 2006 and 2007, Mark organized
"Outside the Lines," as part of Santa Fe's Gay Pride
events. The show featured over 40 works by LGBT New
Mexican artists. In 2008, he expanded the exhibition
to four galleries. Other successful exhibitions have
come working with Gallery Tirage, unTRAINed Boxcar
Gallery, and A2 (art x activism) in Santa Fe.

Mark has also received several notable commissions.
Currently he is the permanent poster designer of the
wind music group Concordia Santa Fe. In the past he
has painted for the Santa Fe Human Rights Alliance,
Sandscape Publications Music Catolog and traveled to
New Orleans to complete paintings for the Fleur de Lis
Physical Therapy clinic.

Mark continues to live and work in Santa Fe, NM.
